Hello! I still haven't been here very much the past few weeks. :(

1. I'm directing a film for my class, even though I'm not a film major anymore. Haha! Oh well, so far it's been much better than last time (which I hated). But we're still in preproduction. I'm hoping that shooting will go well.

2. After March bombarded me with new music from like 80% of my favorite kpop groups, now April has quite a few kdramas I want to watch at once. Arg! I don't have time! I usually only watch 2 at the time. At the moment, I have chosen Lee Joon Hyuk's new drama Equator Man and Jang Geun Suk's new drama Love Rain to watch. Both have a few episodes centered on a certain time period or the main characters' teenage years, then have a time jump. It makes me kind of sad, because I love the younger cast in EM and I really like how LR starts out in the 70s. It's refreshing to watch a drama that isn't present day or way back in the day. But LR skips forward to 2012 in episode 4 :/ Oh well, I still like them.

3. GD&TOP collaborated with a girl that not only isn't from 2NE1, but is actually British. So the song is in English. So refreshing! It's a great song and I adore them rapping/singing in English again. Apparently the song is going to be released worldwide soon. I'm not sure if that means it will get a music video? I hope so! Even though I don't pay much attention to music other than kpop/hip hop anymore, I'm really happy that GD&TOP are beginning to collaborate with worldwide artists. Although, I wish Big Bang would collaborate with more Korean or even Japanese artists too.

4. I have so many plans for summer and next semester. I wish this semester would END ALREADY! >_<

5. I found a PAID internship that pretty much requires watching and editing and subtitling Asian dramas. O_O I WANT.

6. As for kpop related stuff... same as usual. I listen to new stuff (March's new albums were awesome, weren't they?), then kind of wander and find old song and other groups to listen to. I like Brown Eyed Girls and 1TYM a lot. I'm trying to listen to the rest of YG artists, like Se7en and Gummy. I recently watched the YG special episodes of Strong Heart and fell more in love with YGF. They are all very talented and fun people ^_^

Hello. I haven't been here in a long time. I'm sorry LJ, I keep forgetting about you :(

The good news is, part of the reason why this is happening is because I'm watching dramas regularly again, along with spazzing over Big Bang's comeback. Well, I mean I'm always watching dramas, but now I'm not just watching currently airing kdramas. I'm watching jdramas again! Yay! Last weekend I had very little homework, so I pretty much did nothing but watch dramas for two days. It was lovely ♥

Currently Watching:
Renai NEET
Lucky Seven
Coffee Prince

I also finished Wild Romance and What's Up this weekend. Since it was too hard for me to decide which currently airing/new kdrama to watch next, I decided to pick an older one to finally watch. All of my friends love CP, so I chose that one.

I really like Renai NEET. Nagayama Kento is so adorable, even though his character is an annoying jerk pretending to be nice. I also like the older cast. It's nice to break away from the jdramas with young idols in it, the same how it was nice to break away from typical kdramas with What's Up. The problem is, subbing is slow ;_; Oh well. I'll have to be patient again, like over the summer. Anyway, so far I like these dramas better than some of the ones I watched last semester. I think the only (currently airing) one I loved last semester was Protect the Boss.

I haven't been watching any kpop variety shows unless they are related to Big Bang, because they are very distracting and I never finish them (although I love them). I'm thinking of having a marathon of them over spring break. I really really really want to see B1A4's Sesame Player.

As for Big Bang, their new album is awesome! I don't get my copy in the mail for another two weeks though ;_; Both of the music videos they filmed in NYC have been aired. I like them a lot. I like how every song sounds different, because usually I feel like they have a consistent sound among the songs on each album, even though each album itself sounds different. I think Bad Boy and Love Dust are my favorite songs from this album. They also went on a show called Healing Camp to talk about their issues last year. It was so sad to watch Daesung talk about his accident. He was shaking and almost crying :( He is so brave to go on tv and talk about it. I'll feel even more proud of him later this month when he goes on tv to sing solo. ♥

Wow, I keep forgetting about writing here ;_; I haven't been reading your entries either! I'm sorry! I'll work on it this weekend.

1. I AM NOT A FILM MAJOR ANYMORE. FREEEEEDDDDOOOOMMMM! No more anxiety over senior thesis etc! No more anxiety over the big scary film business! Yay! I am a Communications Studies major now. Much better! Or at least I hope so. I've liked my comm classes that I took before, but next year I will start taking the required courses. I'm happy, even though people around me are disappointed.

2. I've been drama-less for two weeks! I'm about to watch some Wild Romance after writing this. Then tomorrow I will watch the last four episodes of What's Up T_T Then this weekend I will hopefully watch up with jdramas. I've been going crazy without them! Especially since I'm way behind with my American shows now too :(

3. The other day was my 1 year anniversary of becoming a fan of Shirota Yuu. It was emotional for me already because he helped me through a sad situation around this time last year. Knowing a year went by and that things are better now and that I'm still a fan of him made me happy. Then he released a teaser on the same day and I just exploded. How perfect is that?! It would have been cooler if it was the full mv, but I'm fine with teasers. I swear, when other people come out with teasers, I'm like, okay cool. When Yuu comes out with a teaser: OMFG ADJSJFKDSFKSAFSH LOOK AT HIM.

Oh yeah and there's Howie D haha. I'm so happy that Yuu got to sing with him not once, but TWICE!

I wrote this note to Yuu that day. Well, not really to him, just for me.

Hello, Beautiful Yuu. It’s been 365 days. I have this thing where I like to write heartfelt posts at the one year anniversary of me liking a celebrity/tv show/movie/etc. I have to admit, I’ve been looking forward to making this post since before even our six month anniversary. You’re special. You really are.

I’m not going to say anything dramatic like you saved my life. But you did save me from a hard time I was having. Asian dramas helped me be happy at that time, but you helped me even more by helping me realize I didn’t need to be in a certain sad situation anymore. Almost over night I decided to let it go. And thank you, thank you, for leading me in that direction. Thank you for making me smile. Thank you for making me fangirl more than I ever had in my entire life. Thank you for helping me make new friends. Thank you for cheering me up every single one of those 365 days. I wish you knew that even though you’re in Japan or Spain or Australia or wherever your life takes you, you have still touched the heart- many hearts- of me and of people in America and around the world.

Thank you ♥

4. Big Bang is 45 minutes away from me atm, to film their new music video. My feelings are all confusing and conflicting so I'm just gong to stare at Shirota Yuu and listen to his voice instead of thinking about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy that they are here and that I'm nearby. It's just... I don't want to go see them in this sort of situation, and everyone here is all crazy and trying to find them and meeting them at the airport, etc. I feel like I should take an opportunity to see them up close, but I've never been the type of person who wants to meet a celebrity that way. I always meet them at official events and stuff. So I'm going to focus on their world tour- OH YEAH THEY'RE HAVING A WORLD TOUR. NOW THAT I AM EXCITED ABOUT. I hope hope hope hope I get to go to a concert!
Anyway, the point of this post is that I want so badly to have a personal meeting with them, but I know it probably won't happen. So should I take an opportunity, or not? I feel like it would make me sad to go to the airport to see them. They're be so close, then ignore me and walk away, get on a plane, and leave :( Sounds depressing to me.

I've been feeling nervous about the new semester for a few weeks now. I was worried because this time last year I didn't do well at all when I went back to school. Last year was a lot worse though, things are better now. But both my dad and I were expecting some sort of nervous attack like I had last time. However, it never came. It still hasn't come yet, although I was nervous before I wento to Japanese today. I'm not sure, but I think it's because I started watching a new kdrama called Wild Romance on Saturday, the night before I left to go back to school, and it distracted me from being nervous. I know I said I wasn't going to watch any new kdramas this season, but I couldn't help it. I had to check this one out. It's a wonderful drama, already six episodes in. I basically watched four episodes before going to bed, then I spent the entire four hour trip to school thinking about it, then watched episodes five and six right when I got there. I still haven't stopped thinking about it. Since I'm caught up now, I've been looking up pictures of the actors and actresses online and rewatching certain scenes over again. While it is a great drama so far, I'm mostly obsessed with the second lead characters- Director Kim and Dong Ah, played by Kang Dong Ho and Im Joo Eun.

Meet my new OTP. Here, she is imitating a sexy laugh from a porn movie they're watching (for research purposes) while he stares at her with his perfect pokerface (which seems permanently stuck on his face). But obviously he is turned on by that sexy laugh and cute adorable face.

I'm so head-over-heels in love with them. If they don't get together at the end, I will cry. Buckets of tears everywhere.

First of all, Director Kim (the guy) is one of the best poker-faced, all-business characters played for humor that I have ever seen. The actor pulls it off flawlessly. I can never resist a good character like this. I tried to write one into my script once, during high school, but I failed at it. Which is sad because I'm rather stoic myself. But I'm not funny. Anyway, Director Kim has become one of those characters that I want to adopt just so he can live with me and work on his laptop in my kitchen while I watch him and make him feel extremely uncomfortable. Also, he is an awkward turtle, which is hilarious because he tells someone they need to see a doctor because they have a "turtle neck." Then he says, "Oh, I shouldn't have said that. It sounded bad. Sorry."

Second of all, Dong Ah is an author (I think. Or unemployed but wants to be an author or was an author) who spends most of her time in her house reading books about sex and other subjects that she finds interesting. She also reads poetry. She has a giant shelf in her house full of books and porn DVDs. Did I mention she wanted to write erotic scripts? She's weird and seems high half the time, but she isn't. I wish she was my friendly but weird neighbor. Maybe she can live next door with Director Kim and I can visit both of them whenever I want.

When these two meet, Dong Ah finds him extremely attractive, and comes up with the perfect excuse to touch him- *poke* "Excuse me. I wanted to know if you were a robot." I SHIP IT. I SHIP IT SO HARD.

Thankfully, I like the rest of the show's narrative as well. It would suck if I had to watch the whole show only for them if I didn't like the rest of it.

As I wait for new episodes, I like to come up with my own head canon/things I hope will happen with them as episodes go by ^_^

P.S. Concerning jdramas, I've also watched two episodes of Hungry! and the first episode of Renai NEET. I'm still waiting for the first episode of Lucky Seven to be subbed.
17 January 2012 @ 11:09 pm

I'm sitting here remembering all of the jdramas I watched last winter/spring and telling my friend about them and I just want to cry. I am such a sap when it comes to jdramas. They always make me cry. I marathoned Orange Days the other night and felt like I was at home. After watching a few episodes, I went to bed and listened to kpop before falling asleep. Even though I cry often because of jdramas, they also always leave me with an incredible feeling of pure happiness. It swelled inside me as I lay in my bed, and the kpop made me happier too. But nothing in this world makes me feel the way jdramas do. It's like finding true love. In Orange Days, they asked, "What is it in this world that makes you feel alive?" and for me last winter/spring it was jdramas, and I think I'm getting back to that.

I've been thinking that I wish I could rewatch Honey and Clover, Tumbling, Nobuta wo Produce, pretty much all of my favorites that I watched last spring. Including You're Beautiful, the kdrama version. God I miss A.N.JELL. But I don't have time, especially if I want to watch the new ones. Oh well. Maybe someday I'll go back to those.

I didn't finish OD today because I only have four episodes and I don't want to finish it yet. *sigh* They're so good but so short (then I complain about kdramas being too long lol).

Also, rumors about Big Bang having a world tour came up again today so I was in a frenzy and couldn't concentrate on anything -_- Can YG just announce it already? Or can it be Feb so BB can have their comeback? Shirota Yuu has a new single in Feb too ^_^

Ugh, I am so not looking forward to going back to school and trying to balance between schoolwork, dramas, and kpop again. Especially since there's so much happening the next few months....

Crap, I looked at the list of dramas coming out this month and there's a lot that I want to watch O_O I don't think I've watched more than four at the same time. I was going to go back to marathoning older jdramas and cut back on my tv show watching T_T I started watching a few new American shows and I watched to watch some British shows this semester too. Noooo. I hate watching too many "currently" airing shows at once. :( They probably won't all get subbed though, so I won't end up watching all of them. *sigh*

List of What I Want to Watch/Am Watching:
  • Hungry!
  • Saikou no Jinsei no Owarikata
  • Shirato Osamu no Jikenbo (Chiba Yudai and Hongo Kanata!!!!!)
  • Shut Up Flower Boy Band
  • Renai NEET
  • Dream High 2 (I still need to watch the first though)
  • MBLAQ Hello Baby
  • What's Up (Still airing)
  • Once Upon a Time
  • Switched at Birth (I have to catch up)
  • Boku to Star no 99 Nichi (I need to finish it)
  • Sherlock (I haven't started Season 1 yet)
  • Great Expectations (This is only 3 episodes so it's not that bad)
  • Downton Abbey (I haven't started this either)
  • Summer dramas (like Arakawa and Jiu, which I haven't finished yet)
I would be watching some of these now during break, but I'm spending time studying Japanese and doing stuff with my sister. Oh well. I'll just pick and choose what to watch during the semester and see what sticks.

MBLAQ's new mini album is awesome ♥ I'm excited to see their stages! Also, since Big Bang has another Japanese concert this month and their Big Show in the beginning of March, I'm going to guess that their comeback is going to be in February. I can't waaaaaiiit! My first Big Bang comeback ^_^

1. I have finished my kdramas from this season, so now I'm going to finish the jdramas from this season and summer season. My summer Shirota Yuu dramas weren't subbed very quickly so I decided to wait until they were completely subbed. I think they still aren't completely subbed yet, but oh well. Maybe I'll watch up to the most recently subbed episode. The only new drama I'm looking forward too so far is Lucky Seven and whatever drama TOP ends up in. I haven't heard of anything else yet so I was thinking of going back to marathoning older dramas this semester.

2. Speaking of jdramas, I finally watched Party wa Owatta! I actually watched it last month and kept forgetting to write about it. I liked it a lot. I was happy to see Hiroki and Riisa together again, even though their story was my least favorite. It made me nostalgic for jdramas, which I haven't been watching much of lately. It also made me miss Riisa, which is why I'm excited for Lucky Seven. I also loved Nagayama Kento in it. His story was my favorite. I like him a lot, ever since I watched Asuko March. That reminds me, I need to watch the Ranma 1/2 live action, which he's in with Kaku Kento ^_^

3. I spent a day catching up with Chuck. The past few episodes have been making me excited over the show again, which I haven't been for a very long time. I acted like they were my OTP during some of the Chuck/Sarah scenes haha. It's sad that it's the last season, but I do believe that it's time for the show to end.

4. I watched a marathon of Once Upon a Time the other day. I'm not sure if I love it yet but I do enjoy watching it. Snow White is my favorite character, along with Henry and Rumpelstiltskin. Since Chuck is ending, I think I'm going to let this show be my replacement for it. I'm actually terrible with keeping up with shows even though I watch a lot of TV. I hope I keep up with this show this semester.

5. Last year I liked MBLAQ's Mona Lisa mv and song, but I kind of forgot about them and got too distracted by Big Bang. I liked Joon's ballet performance at Gayo Daejun so I decided to check them out. It resulted in me falling in love immediately, like Big Bang all over again. Right now I think they are going to be my second favorite group, very close to Big Bang. I watched a bunch of their stages and "I Don't Know" and "G.O.O.D. Luv" are definitely on my list of favorite stages now. I've been having a crisis for the past few days because I want to love them as much as Big Bang but I don't know if my heart can handle that :P

Btw, are Ikuta Toma and Oguri Shun in Hawaii right now or were in Hawaii recently?

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had happy holidays as well! Again, I'm sorry that I haven't been reading my flist lately. I also don't comment often because I feel really shy sometimes >_< Anyway, in 2012 I will try to be better!

Time for my usual New Years Eve post!

1. In 2011 I:
* started watching Asian television
* entered the world of kpop
* Saw Beast, SHINee, TVXQ, etc live
* Went to a Korean festival
* Went to a wedding for the first time
* Voted 10,000 times for Big Bang and helped them win the Worldwide Act Award at the EMAs against Britney Spears
* Voted for 2NE1 to win Best New Band in the World from MTV Iggy
* Went to Disney World
* Turned 21
*Saw Peter Pan on stage
* Watched 49 Asian dramas/movies (some dramas incomplete)
* Started watching Doctor Who
* Had one of my stories printed in the college literary magazine
* Pretty much wasted the entire year....

Yeah my post is pretty boring this year. Usually it's more varied haha. But truly, my ENTIRE 2011 was spent watching dramas and listening to kpop. It was a lot of fun, but I need to get my act together in 2012.

2. New Favorite Actors/Actresses in 2011
* Shirota Yuu
* Ikuta Toma
* Naka Riisa
* Kaku Kento
* Everyone in Doctor Who series 1-6
* Refer to #4

3. New Obsessions
* kpop
* Asian dramas
* Doctor Who

4. Every year I like to make a list of the celebrities I liked a lot that year.

2008: 4

2009: 7

2010: 5

2011 (when I got into jdramas/kdramas/kpop starting in January): 84

74 of them are Asian.

Here's the list, 74, in random orderCollapse )

I probably forgot some. I mostly added biases so sometimes only one or a few members of a kpop group show up but that doesn't mean I don't like the others too. As always, feel free to suggest Asian music/dramas/movies to me ^_^

5. In 2012 I Hope To:
* Get my act together
* Go to Japan?
* Not fail at my classes
* Get my driver's license (this has been in this list for the past 3-4 years....)
* Get a job (also on list for 3-4 years....)
* Not freak out in senior year

6. I Can't Wait For
* Going to Japan if I do go
* Tom Hardy movies
* New Fringe episodes
* Rewatching Buffy episodes with Rachel
* Watching more Big Bang concerts
20 December 2011 @ 08:58 pm
Finals are done! Yay! Again, I haven't been reading my flist lately. I'm sorry! I'll try to get back into reading it and writing here over break.

Lots of exciting things lately, from the Dark Knight Rises trailer, Big Bang's Love and Hope Tour DVD, and Shirota Yuu's new songs/tv special, etc. I'm pretty sure I had something not fandomy to write about, but I don't remember what it is. Maybe it was about my Japan plans? I'm still working on it. I'll be applying over winter break. Also, I think Shirota Yuu said he's taking a break to study abroad around the same time I am. So I will probably go to Japan and still not be in the same country as him ;_; It's hilarious if you think about it. The universe is trying to keep us apart! Noooooo! I'm not sure where he's going.

OH! Yuu had his first live concert the other day. I spent a whole morning trying to look up stuff about it instead of studying for my finals. He has a bunch of concert goods you can buy from his website, including his 2012 calendar, but they don't ship to the US! T_T Being a Shirota Yuu stan living in the US sucks! Like I really want to watch this show about him visiting Barcelona, but I probably won't be able to see it, at least for a long time ;_;Collapse )

I watched Inception again with my suitemates. I haven't seen it in a while. If you didn't know me then, it was my obsession in 2010. I still love it, but I'm not part of the fandom anymore. If the fandom is still even around haha. Anyway, I kept giggling when Arthur showed up. He just makes me giggle for some reason. I think part of it this time is watching it again felt like seeing old friends, and Arthur is like that old friend who you think, "Wow, they really haven't changed AT ALL this whole time." My suitemate's friend kept asking me questions because I told her how I saw the movie a trillion times in theaters and was obsessed with it, etc. It was fun! Especially when they started saying funny lines for the characters. My favorite- for Arthur: "Snazzy powers, activate!" XD

Some gorgeous Big BangCollapse )

I'm sitting here waiting for Rachel to finish some stuff before we watch the Love and Hope Tour. I'm so excited! From what I've seen, it looks really awesome. I've only seen parts of it, which I watched when I was supposed to be studying haha. Why is it that Shirota Yuu and Big Bang always come out with stuff when I have midterms or finals?
